I've fixed the bug mention yesterday with path end-points. Actually the problem was with shortening the path from the right, after this the wrong end-point was cached so querying the end point would always produce a bad result.
There are still some design issues with the new connector code - I haven't decided if "spacing" should eat into the arm length of jointed connectors; or whether arms should be measured after the spacing has been accounted for.
